Guess FOX has decided it needs to really start pushing the Angels and doesn't care to much about the Lakers since the seasons is almost over and they are leaving for another station next season. Two home games of the Lakers are being moved to prime ticket so that they can broadcast two angels games on FOX Sports West.

The games will be Fridays against Huston and April 17 against San Antonio.

So what's the difference if they are on Fox Sports West or Prime Ticket? I don't see any from a Directv customer view.

If you set up auto recordings based on it always being on FOX Sports West you will miss those two games.
Yeah, and it will stop recording your favorite history channel show as well when they move it to H2.

Oh man, how difficult this DVR technology is to master, and how dependent we have become on it. :D

Considering that this is the first time in over 12 years a home game has been on a different channel I thought I might mention it in case someone didn't notice and wanted to catch the game.

Someone usually mentions when some weird programming thing happens that causes something unusual to happen and this is one of those times.

This is not at all like shows changing to h2.

well NHL and NBA playoff leads to lots of RSN shifting around. over the last few year on CSN chicago you got a LOT of it.
Never happened to the lakers before. All the other teams get shifted but not the lakers. This is fox being juvenile. They could have easily show the angels on prime ticket instead of the lakers like in the past but they are bitter about loosing the lakers so they moved them instead. It's pretty funny they did this to be honest.

FYI for those who don't usually get the LA RSNs, Friday's Laker game is "also" on 216 NBATV.

I hate it when I can't get the Lakers game because it is on KCAL9. KCAL9 is not available to San Diego County even thou the Lakers are suppose to be a home market for San Diego. Luckily October 2012 is just around the corner, problem solved.

I think that's one of the major reasons the Lakers made the deal with time Warner. Not sure why the Lakers never got a local in San Diego to broadcast their games, they could have.

The Angels have a 25 percent stake stake in FOX Sports West, so it is natural that the Angels wouldn't get bumped. It's not juvenile and anyone who thinks that doesn't understand business relationships.

FOX Sports West was built by the Lakers. Heck, the original prime ticket which is now fsw was started by buss. They could put the Angels on Prime Ticket and it wouldn't make a bit of difference. They chose to move the Lakers because they have no future responsibility to them at all. If the Lakers where to still be on FOX Sports West next year, I assure you they would have put the Angels on Prime Ticket. That's what's Juvenile. There are two teams they never move, the dodgers and the lakers. They move all the other teams, college and pro around those two, generally trying to keep certain teams on certain channels. I completely understand the economics of it all. They moved the Lakers because they are hoping people trying to tune the Lakers will end up watching the Angels. It's a joke, that will only screw with people recording shows. Now if they had marketed it as the Lakers last games will be on prime ticket, where they started that'd would have been smart, but that's not what they are doing.

And by the way, I still haven't seen MLB approve that new tv deal for the Angels, much less either side state that deal is finalized. Can you point me to where it's been approved? Until its finalized, they don't own squat. Would think it would be, but then I thought they would have announced it too, which I have not seen and couldn't find either.

Get the class action lawsuit ready. The Lakers fanbois will have to learn how to use a DVR or click up a channel. It's a couple of games. Even if a deal isn't approved, FOX has a duty to keep its potential business partner happy and not one who is leaving in a few weeks.

I really don't think you get my point. Your sarcasm is unwarranted. You attempted to insulted me and the when I explained why you where off with the insult you attempt to insult me again.

This has nothing to do with being unhappy about this change of channel for two games. I started the thread to let people know of the unusual change, just as many threads get started for unusual programing issues or changes.

Discussing why was a byproduct. It's just another classes move that FOX has made (although has almost no real affect this time, unlike their illegal phone tapping etc.) and is obviously ingrained in their entire corporate culture, based on all the other stunts the have pulled.

All they had to do to make the Angels happy was show the game on Prime Ticket or FOX Sports West, it would not have matter one bit to angels fans. The same number of people will be able to see the Angels no matter which station it's is on, but less people will be able to see the Lakers game, including those time Warner customers in San Diego if the Lakers game is on prime ticket rather than fsnw. How can that be construed as anything other than being petty?

There you go with more insults. The moral of the story is don't anger Lakers fanbois.

Sounds to me like you are upset because Prime Ticket is the "second choice" channel, and now it totally makes it sound like the Lakers is a "second choice" team.

How dare they move it to a channel that is a WHOLE button away! Why won't those MLB fans have to push to a different channel, why oh why does it have to be us proud Lakers fans? :D
