I've searched the forums on the subject line and found nothing, but that doesn't mean anything.

Just got off the phone with D* 2nd level support. It seems that a number of season premiere shows, especially from ABC, were being recorded with a late start, missing what appears to be the first 10 or 15 seconds.

The reply, after a long wait, was that it's a problem in the latest software release, that the clock in the guide is fast, and that it will take a software release from D* to fix it.

Meanwhile, I have the delightful opportunity to re-program all my repeating shows to start earlier, and deal with the resultant conflicts.

Anybody got any better ideas?

Thanks.

As you'll see from posts in the above-referenced thread by a few of us who have been testing this for a while, the INFO bar clock time and recording start time are independent of each other.

A reset will fix your INFO bar clock, but that's about it. If your recordings are starting more than 5-6 seconds late it's most likely the networks starting early. You may want to pad the start times in your ABC SL's by a minute. /steve

Steve, I respectively disagree. I have The Late Show set to record. Just after a reboot, I can see the guests being announced for the show. It's hard to see the shift from day to day, but there does come a time (usually a week to 10 days) when I no longer see this info. If it was the network starting shows earlier than scheduled, then this discrepancy would be consistent. This is most easily seen with shows scheduled to record daily. Other shows I see this with miss the "previously on" at the beginning. Once I reboot, the problem is fixed until it drifts off too far again.

BTW, I do pad the beginning now (as the networks do mess with the times), but if I let the clock get real slow, then the beginning of shows are missed again.

I hear you, but you'll never get me to agree, based on my own extensive testing. :) As you know, I don't own a 20-100, so it's possible that box behaves differently than my 20-700's, 21-200 or 21-700. We probably shouldn't hijack this thread since we've discussed this extensively in other threads, including this one, so I would just direct barryr there and let him draw his own conclusions from our prior discussions. /steve
