so had an issue with a customer not getting locals channels. customer has m10, in marina dell ray. first off, the zip code was wrong (numbers transposed, came up as san diego when call started) corrected zip code to reflect local market. getting a message saying out of area for locals, kinda like if you're getting locs from a spot-beam but out of that beams AoE. reset, resent authorization, deact/reinstate rec, no change. out of curiosity, had him check the locals in the 380's, they come in. they _shouldn't_, but they did. Anyone know why what should not have worked worked? account had no DNS service, LA isn't a spot beam, far as I know.

LA is a spot beam with the exception of the Big Four networks (ABC, CBS, NBC and FOX) which are on the 101 satellite for DNS purposes. Was the county changed on the service address? I've heard that will prevent your getting locals.

This just looks like the service address is wrong.

All of LA's channels are on spot beam for the local number (i.e. 2,4,5,7,9,11,13) unless they just changed this in the last month. I proved this theory previously. Also, Anyone with an LA address also automatically has access to the West DNS feeds since they live in LA....
