There are people on this board who would pay you money for a working HR20-700, yes. They would want to verify its RID number with the Access Card department at DirecTV first, though, to assure it was an owned model.

Sure it is. Go to ebay and search for other HR** boxes for sale.
Any smart potential buyer would want the box ID# from you before purchase to check with Directv that it is actually owned and not leased.

Edit: Carl beat me to it!
One more thing, are you positive it is owned? Latety Directv has not been asking for leased HR20 boxes back when customers cancel service or are replacing it with another model.

Understood. RID is 0250 0468 8435

Not sure who owns the equipment listed below but DTV did not want it back:

There are also (4) Green label DECA1MR0-1 (2) Green Label Power Inserters PI21R1-03 and (1) Green label 8 way splitter MSPLIT8R0-03

Just be careful. My understanding is Directv does not want the HR20s back but but no one else will be able to activate them because they are still considered leased (assuming they were leased receivers in the first place).

Shades228 or Wahooq may be able to confirm that is still the policy.

I would hang on to it another month or two. Despite being told by several people at DirecTV they didn't want my HR20 back, I was charged several hundred dollars in non-return fees a month or so after I cancelled. Better safe than sorry.

I would hang on to it too. I made a huge mistake. After 7 years, I left DTV and went to Dish for PAC-12 Network. HD programming is awful, the guide interface and recording are awful. The wife was about to divorce me and she rarely watches TV. I called DTV to take me back (felt like I was calling my EX). DTV paid for half of my cancellation fee, New equipment, same prices as a new subscriber and NFL Sunday Ticket. While the installer was here and I still had my old equipment he called corporate and they let me keep my HR24-300.

Those seemed like opinions to me, not facts.
