I called, canceled and re-subscribed with Free Superfan. Thanks! (It cost me $20.00 to save $99.00)

im not even going to risk it...with my luck dealing with them, id cancel and resubscribe, and only sunday ticket would be added and id have to pay 269 instead of 249 im paying now...and lose the 20 bucks.

tai, when you readded it, did you do it on the website, and did superfan appear automatically, or did you do it through a CSR?

It looks like that message was sent as an email to some people.

The fine print does say the offer is only available to "select customers."

Wonder if that means everybody?

I called a CSR and asked to have it removed and re-added with free superfan. He went away for about 1 minute, came back and said not a problem. Kept me on the phone while he made the changes. Real nice guy.

Did they define what a delect customer is? Another PR messup on the way.

were you a returning subscriber? or did you just add it earlier this year?

How is this a PR messup if the offer is meant for a select group that DirecTV sent the email to? DirecTV has no control over people who post the emails they receive. It could very well be that people who did not get the email but later called based on this posting and got the deal, opted out of these emails or had them blocked by spam filters.

BTW, the email linked in the OP includes the email address of the customer who recieved and shared it....

I just mean simply from the view, that we will now see 100 posts of people upset that some people are able to get it and some are not, and as usual it will appear that there is no rationale behind it.
