I've had problems from day one with the audio not synching with lip movement. It's worse on the local HD channels, but I have noticed it on most channels. Powering off, switching channels back and forth, and even resetting has not corrected the problem.

Like you, it happened to me all the time. When I was using HDMI that is.
With component input, no problem.
Also, when I had the problem on HDMI, if I changed my input and then went back to HDMI, the problem also went away for awhile.
After I started using component exclusively, the problem is gone.
But the other day I left the TV on all day and left it on HDMI...by the end of the day the audio and video were WAY out of sync. Switched to component and sync was fine; switched back to HDMI and sync was also fine.
