I'm sure many are getting tired of us "whining" about our freezing issues, perhaps we can make a list for D* and sorta get a count of how many of us are out there! So, please do not post if your HR20 is working properly, I'd like to see how many others have MAJOR issues. Let's try to provide Earl and D* as much info as possible:

  1. How often?
  2. MPEG2? (Channels 70-79)
  3. MPEG4? (Local HD Channels)
  4. Location
  5. Serial # maybe? (located on the label that came in the box)
  6. Manufacture Date (located on same label)
  7. Connection to TV (HDMI/components...)
  8. Type of dish
  9. B-Band Converter (BBC) installed?
If you can think of anything else please let me know and I'll add it to the list. Thanks for your participation!

I've only experienced lockups occationally in the following situations:

1) Trying to playback a corrupt show (negative time showing)
2) Deleting a show while it's still recording

  1. How often?: First one today (but it was the first time I had actually sit down to use my box)
  2. MPEG2? dunno, it was a HD local here in Los Angleles, the Colts game
  3. MPEG4?
  4. Location: Los Angeles
  5. Serial # maybe?
  6. Manufacture Date: not sure where to find this
  7. Connection to TV (HDMI/components...): HDMI
  8. Type of dish: 5 lnb

So I sat down for the first today to use my HR20 and watch the Colts/Redskins game that I had recorded this afternoon. I had set the game to record the remainder on my way out the door, added an hour to the ending, and paused it. When I turned on the TV, it appeared to be playing near the end of the game. I went to the VOD and selected the game from the list, and that's where it locked. It was recording at least one show at the time, possibly two others.

Thanks for the replies, keep 'em coming! I updated the first post for more info.

MPEG2 is channels 70-79, such as HBO HD, HDNet, Discovery HD...
MPEG4 is local HD.
S/N and date are on a label that came in the box, the installer taped it underneath mine.

I had a lock up yesterday watching a MPEG4 local. I paused it while it was recording (I was watching live and recording). When I went back 20 minutes later, the unit was completely locked up. Now - I only gave it about 30 seconds before I did a red-button reset, so in all fairness, it could gave been slow, not locked.

Its happened a couple of times - last time described here.
MPEG4 - Detroit Channel 2 during NFL game.
Yes my bbc's are installed
Connected via HDMI
AT9
