DirecTV is trying to get me to rejoin, they are offering me what looks to be the same deal as a new customer.
Originally I had a local dealer (no longer in business), do the work and it was very good. When I upgraded to HD I dealt with DirecTV and they sent a person out, work was not quite as good.
My questions are:
1) Am I better off looking for a local installer?
2) Will they offer the same deal which includes a free HDDVR, free HD and installation?
I live in western CT and not sure who would be reliable to do the work.
Thanks for any help.

i might be wrong but i would theb D* themself could give you a better deal than a local office. I would go with them and let them send an installer.

Yes, local dealers will be able to give you the same deals as D*.
If you're better of depends on what tech the HSP sends, and what his workload is.
For the record I work for a NYC dealer. PM me and maybe we can work something out.
