Specifically I was wondering if a 3 LNB dish would receive locals in the Philadelphia market and more generally is there a chart or list anywhere that shows what local markets use what sat?
What limitations would a 3 LNB dish pose in the Philly market?
It is a 3 sat dish. I am not sure of the vintage. I think it was later than 2003. I originally started out with single, then went to three ands then slimline 5.tkrandall said:Question for the OP. By "3 LNB" did you mean the circa 2003 Phase III dish (101/110/119) or the Slimiline 3 Ka/Ku (99/101/103) dish?
Ok fine.... Just to clarify.... the spare dish I have is a 101, 110, 119 dish. I suspect that there is some HD just not local channel HD on these birds, is that correct?tkrandall said:It should be fine for SD. HD needs a Slimline3 or Slimeline 5, as Texasbrit said.
OK, so all old and third party RX's will basically be trash and I can take mine to the hamfest tomorrow!K4SMX said:All HD will be mpeg4 shortly.
If you want HD they will be. The HR10-250 (Hi Def Tivo) will still get HD OTA though.dsc3507 said:OK, so all old and third party RX's will basically be trash and I can take mine to the hamfest tomorrow!
There is some HD still receivable in MPEG2 with that dish. But not much. It's all moving to MPEG4 on the 99 & 103 sats. It requires a slimline dish - either 5LNB or (very new) 3LNB, for 99, 101 & 103 sats.dsc3507 said:Ok fine.... Just to clarify.... the spare dish I have is a 101, 110, 119 dish.
