HD market transitions to D11 – these markets will be transitioned to the new satellite on 10/1/08:

• Boston
• Charlotte
• Greensboro
• Miami
• New York
• Portland, ME
• Providence, RI
• West Palm Beach

So, make sure you have a good clear shot at the 99w position.

Yes
Sounds like they are getting ready to re task spotbeams on the spaceways again, so they can be more efficient and get more LIL coverage...
Looks like they are taking the SD channels from 101 and combining them on the HD spot beam for those markets.
If I'm thinking correctly, Series Links won't be affected right?

Correct.

SD locals are unaffected.

Correct.
The common denominator here is they are all eastern Cities on the eastern most SAT:D
These spot beams are also smaller so if you're playing the zip code game you might be out locals.
My locals went out today 9/29 in Charlotte. I've got a 5 LNB dish with an H20-100 w/BBC since March 2007. Are you saying I'll be out locals permanently or during the transition?

EDIT: Nevermind. They're back.
Question for everybody....I am having D* finally hopefully installed tomorrow(supposed to be the 18th) and I purchased a new 3lnb that picks up 99/101/103 since I have no LOS on 119....will I be affected at all? I am a little confused as to what the difference is between 99w and 99s.

99w is the location in the sky. 99s refers to spot beam, 99c refers to conus. If you have a clear LOS to 99, 101 and 103 you will not be affected not being able to get 110/119. The channel relocation to another sat should be seamless, no apparent change to the viewer.
Is this why I may be having some pixelation problems on my locals for that last couple of weeks? I use locals out of Providence, R.I.

No... They haven't messed with the signals you are getting now. They will be moving them to another sat on Wednesday, but they don't do anything to its current status until they change their location... And then it will be turn them off at one location and on at another.
What time does this usually happen? I'm on the east coast and hoping I can check to see if my locals go HD before I head into work around 5am. Gives me an excuse to buy even more beer for the Cubs game. Yes, I know they're on TBS...
