That sucks. I have an old 659 that has been working great for around 3yrs. You would think they could roll you back to the old software until they get the new software working. At least you could use it.
8-12 weeks?Dear Customer,
Thank you for your recent inquiry about your Harmony 670
We are sorry to hear that you are experiencing difficulties using your Harmony 670. The issue with the Harmony 670 activity button customization has been logged and addressed within our system.
This issue is scheduled to be fixed in our next comprehensive update. This will allow us to complete full testing and ensure that no other issues are introduced. We do not yet have a release date, as we are still in the process of defining the complete scope of this update. We do not expect this next release to be available any earlier than 8-12 weeks.
I thought that a fix was already put in place, but maybe not for your model. Stop by the Harmony forum at Remote Central, and I'm sure you can get some assistance to see if your issue has indeed been resolved, or if not, if there is a workaround that will help you ...scottjf8 said:So I bought a Harmony 670 a few months ago, and a big reason is that it's easy to use. Especially for my 3 1/2 year old. She knows that when she wants the TV and DVR on, she can hit the "Watch TV" activity button and it turns the TV and DVR on and tunes to the right input.
However with a software update 2 weeks ago, those activity buttons completely broke. I called support and they acknowledged that it was broken, but they hoped to have an update "within a week or two."
Then I get an email about it. And it reads
8-12 weeks?
I can't think of worse customer service. You break a major function of a device I paid almost $160 for, and won't fix it for 2-3 months? Wow.
Moral of the story : Don't buy Logitech products.
It's web based so I don't believe there is any way to use an old version.EXTACAMO said:That sucks. I have an old 659 that has been working great for around 3yrs. You would think they could roll you back to the old software until they get the new software working. At least you could use it.
They definately support macros. You can create any order of custom commands you want, including delays. I use them all the time on my 880 to control a Media Center PC (doing things like moving menus up, down, over, pressing select, etc.)houskamp said:Lack of macro abillity is why my harmony remote is in the bag with the rest of the useless remotes..
Well then they should send the OP a working model since they broke it for him. But he probably didn't spend enough for it to warrant that level of service. I'll bet if had the $500 Harmony 1000 things would be different.evan_s said:It's web based so I don't believe there is any way to use an old version.
How can I not? This is the first Harmony I've bought, and thus, they are 100% in the "screwing me over" department.spartanstew said:Scott,
