You won't need to send it back. You should be able to keep the old one. Tell them you will put the old box on another TV, and you can keep it. I had the Tivo HD-DVR, and needed an HR-20(plus 5 lnb dish) to get my HD locals. They basically gave me the new DTV DVR for free, and I have the old one too. The installer hooked up the old one, too, but i don't think it's mandatory. Just tell them you have a new TV on the way (or some other lie).
