That's a very narrow open window. You *might* be OK with 99, 101, and 103, since 99 and 103 are very close to your current 101º reception. Later this summer you'll only need those three satellites for all of the HD and regular SD channels.

Also see the link in my signature below for instruction to use the moon's location in the sky once or twice each month to help you "see" where the satellites are located.

I would say you have a ZERO chance of getting a good HD signal there. The Ka-band frequencies used for the HD signals are more susceptable to signal loss than the older Ku signals are, and those trees are currently plenty big enough to block the signal. And those trees are only going to keep growing; expect to lose your 101 signal soon.

Then there is the *current* requirement to get 110 and 119; both of which will be 100% blocked today. No HSP installer would touch that install, because it's going to be an automatic QC fail and chargeback. In fact, newer receivers won't even activate without proper line-of-site. An independent might do it, but probably not.

Your possible solutions include either major tree trimming or relocating the dish to the roof, as high as possible, or to the other side of the house, LOS permitting.

Welcome to the forums, howser56! :welcome_s

From the current dish location, if you can get LOS today, you won't in a very short time.

But looking at the pictures, it sure looks like you could mount the dish higher and get a better LOS. And/or maybe on another face of the house?

Cheers,
Tom

Any way that dish can go higher up the roof. Besides the LOS issues you'll be hard pressed to find a tech that would put the much heavier ka/ku dish there.
