Well guess they are finally catching up with the system.... We have had OKC hd locals for a while now but had waivers for distant HD feeds...got a autommated call today saying as of Aug 17 I will lose my distant feeds??? Thought that I might get to keep them due going through the waiver process but guess not...

We received the automated call too.It sounded like the date was August 7 on our message.
I still can't get CBS and NBC distant network HD waivers. Mabye by the time I get them Directv will have locals in my area.
I got the same phone call a little while ago because I have CBS East feed and it said Aug. 7th it would be turned off.
I got the same call too. Wonder which shows I have still recording there.
I received the phone message today as well. I just had to do a receiver replacement last night and figured that must have caused my distant net (only get KCBS) to be flagged. Just a coincidence I guess. The message I got definitely said August 7th was the cut-off date.
Add me to the list loosing them. Frankly I haven't used them in ages except to check up on our local NBC affiliate for when they have issue with the HD programming to see if it's them or the network, usually them.

I wonder if it's a cleanup that someone decided to do or was it because we finally got the last of the four majors on HD LIL (was a LIN holdout)?
I just got the call too, it went to voicemail and was cut off at the beginning. I thought I was loosing my local channels. Was ready to call and scream! Decided to check here first, glad I did. I guess I am just loosing my NY network feeds that I got long before the local Philly feeds were available. Was nice having them both, mostly for sports.
I received a robotic call as well. I kinda enjoyed watching the L.A. news with their HD camera in the chopper.
I too, received the call. I live on the west coast and have had the east coast feeds since 1997, and now they are going away. I wonder whether the LA stations will be taken away from this San Diego county resident too? I guess it is time to go back to the Big Dish.

this is HD only.. correct?
I believe so. The message I got I believe said they would be turned off because I now receive HD locals in my market.

Can you still get distants in SD? I thought those had been gone for a while with the rollout of the SD locals.
Hmmm .. I haven't gone home yet, but sounds like I'll be getting this message as well. As with many, this won't be that big of a deal.
Add me to the list who got the call. ABC & Fox HD feeds going away.
Well, we all knew it would happen, just a matter of time. The next to go will be the SD feeds when I suspect all SD waivers will become moot next February.
When I got home from work my Wife informed me of the pre-recorded message received today from DirecTv.

I had CBS and FOX west-coast feeds because the local stations were owned and operated by the networks. I really enjoyed utilizing the west-coast feeds when I already had two programs recording on other channels.

Is this because of the deadline for D* to carry all of the DMAs SD channels? I can't recall the specifics of it, but I have seen some details posted elsewhere here. Is this thought to be a certainty? I live in the Montgomery AL DMA, and we are BY FAR the largest DMA with no local channel service from D*. I have become rather pessimistic about our chances!
Me too. CBS & Fox HD West will be gone on August 7th.:(
Does this apply ONLY to HD Distant? I have all East/West feeds in SD and had them for over a decade.
