Lost Shows

I had given up on the HR20 and moved my HR10-250 into my Media Room. Then I read about the latest software releases and all seemed well. I moved the HR20 back into the Media Room and I was pretty pleased...until a few days ago. In that span, I have lost 10+ recordings to the "Keep or Delete" bug.

This is AWFUL. Earl, is DirecTV aware of the scope of the problem? There HAS to be a fix on the horizon, doesn't there???

Have you done a reset since the unwatchable recordings have started appearing and if so, did it correct the problem? If it did not, it may be time to try a full disk format and reset.

I did that today...but from what I have read, the problem is with the momentary loss of signal and the HR20 interpreting that as the end of a program. How would a reformat fix that? And I would be pretty angry if I had to lose the programming I have now on he drive just so I can watch newer stuff. I just can't understand this. I have owned a Tivo for 7 years and the HD Tivo since it came out and I have never seen a similar problem. Why?

That can't be the cause of the problem - I had a slate of 10 "unwatchables" in a row starting with the NFL Network HD recording I tried to make on ch. 95 a week ago. After a reset and deleting all the "unwatchables", all the recordings made since then have been playable. I couldn't possibly have had any momentary losses of signals on several different channels for one 26 hour period last week.

As an aside, I'm going to try to record the NFL game tonight on ch. 95 again and see if that triggers more "unwatchables" or not.
Last Monday night I had six programs scheduled to record, 2 at 8:00 PM, 2 at 9:00 PM and 2 at 10:00 PM.

I started watching one of the 9:00 PM shows around 9:45 PM by selecting it from the Playlist. It froze the live image on the screen and then I got the "Keep or Delete?" message. Repeated attempts produced the same result, so I decided to go back to live and rewind the buffer to the beginning. None of the trick play buttons would do anything, so I was unable to rewind to the beginning.

The same scenario repeated itself when I tried to watch one of the 10:00 PM programs by selecting it from the Playlist. At this point I rebooted and when it came back up, all six programs were gone, including the two 8:00 PM programs that I hadn't attempted to watch. I lost another recording on Sunday morning because of the same bug. It hasn't happened since, but I also haven't had both tuners recording for three hours straight since.

I'm on 0xFA. I had this bug occur only a couple of times in the month before OxFA, but now I've lost more recordings on one night than all previous lost recordings.

Exact same scenario for me. I live in san diego as well. I was watching the football game on 95 and at 8pm my HR20 needed to tape Survivor and Till Death. I went to watch a show in my playist and got the dreaded Delete or Keep message. I exited out and went to watch survivor from the begining and the live program screen froze when I went to rewind. Thanks Directv! what to do now?
Happend to me also, or I should say happened to the wife while I was out of town. Big mistake, especially after convincing her that it was okay to spend the $299 and $9.99/month HD package to replace the existing TIVO with something that appears to have bugs.

The lost shows went immediately to the "keep or delete" screen. I tried the exact samething with live TV and had no DVR functions with not being able to pause, rewind, etc. live TV.

Did a sysem reset thru the menu command and the "bad" shows were gone and the DVR functions were back.

I am going to have hard time with the wife if this happens again.
