Does anybody know when the Lynchburg/Roanoke DMA might get locals in HD? Does the transistion in February have anything to do with that? I see that it is not on the list of DMA's getting it by the end of the year, but will all locals be in HD after the transistion?

No - the transition is from analog to digital - and that has nothing to do with HD.

You will get your locals in HD - when Directv lists them as forthcoming.

Nothing will happen before then - transition or not.

No way that should be the case. The 4 sats in orbit were "supposed" to have the capacity for 1500 HD locals. Right now they have either online or announced 121 markets.

Even if you assume 10 channels per market, that is only 1210 channels. And we know that most markets are going to have 5-6 channels tops.

They should have the capacity with or without D*12.
