I set manual record to catch the UFC fight Sat night. I wanted 30 mins of the intros, so I set record to start at 8:30 and go for 4 hours (fights started at 9:00). I purchased ppv online on channel 123 and made sure manual record was ch 123 for 4 hours.
The manual recording started at 8:30, but stopped at 9:00. Seems like it consulted the guide, noticed the show that was being recording ended (at 9:00), and stopped recording. What's the point of manual record, if it won't do what I tell it to do? CSR said that it won't record "garbage", and there was a problem with authorization for the UFC fight, and that's why it didn't record. Even if all that's coming through is static, I want it to record what I tell it to record.
Funny thing was, it all worked just as I would have expected on my HR10, so the explanation I got doesn't make sense about a system-wide authorization problem.
I did it this way instead of recording from the guide because CSR (at another time) told me that if I purchase on line, then I can watch/record from any receiver in the house, but if I purchase from the guide, I can only watch on that one receiver.
Do I misunderstand what manual record is supposed to do, or is there a bug, or was there some system-wide weirdness that explains what happened -- can somebody explain to me?
