MFH-1 problem - lmx-2's and 42's

why am I blowing lmx-2's and lmx-42's? it's one building with 12 vertical trunks, daisey chained through 36 condos. I have a pile of bad lmx-42's with the last and first port burned out and a bunch of lmx-2's with one output port burned out...it seems to be a constant problem all around the property. I've been on this property for two years now, it's always been MFH-1 for me, it WAS 101 stacked at some point years ago...any ideas would be helpful... I need to buy some 2's and 42's if anybody has any for sale

Could it be lighting problem? I had same problem with SWM-8. Property was built on iron plate .....every storm would burn out SWM modules, Dishes, or distrib. amps. Solved by earth grounding every splice point located on the deployment side.
nah..it does it without lightning around.....I think I can power block the outputs of the lmx-2 so the rx power doesn't connect. The LMX 2 should be able to get power from the input trunkline wire, it shouldn't need to see power from the subscriber unit coming from the rx. Maybe that will extend the life of my lmx2's..it's weird, I have a large box full of 42's I've removed over the years. I use two
lmx-2's now instead of a 42....(figure it out :D ) they last a longer, those 42's always drop output port one and four, every one of em that still work, only work on the two inside output ports, 2 and 3.

Sounds like a bad design from the get go. When do you plan to upgrade to FTM?
you know red, if there was a MFH1 tap, a real tap, I would agree. but there ain't so I use LMX-2's like taps...stupid I know but the building was sick when I got it and the SO was being sued by everybody. I've done the best I can for them. Upgrade? the wiring is daisy chained and to cover every outlet on one leg with two tuners, would require a smw 24, got one of those? :D yup, I'm gonna start blocking the power from the subscriber unit and see if it still works ( it should) and see if the lmx2's will last longer with only power on the input side of the lmx2. I guess you and me are the only ones with mfh1 anymore red? thanks buddy
I've had that problem with LMX-2's a lot and it always seemed to be on the leg connected to a HR20. I've tried VBC's no luck. I checked the voltage coming off of the HR20 and it was putting 40V AC on the center conductor, strange, I didn't think there should be AC voltage present on the line. I installed a ground block at the outlet and the AC voltage disappeared and I haven't had to be back to change out a LMX-2 since. For one unit it used to be a monthly occurrence but hasn't happened a year after the ground block.

The LMX-4's I've had bad just killed signal strength, not sure why but it is pretty rare that those go out on me.

Have you had any problems running to HR20's off of a LMX-2 in a customers demarc and getting pixilation/signal dropouts? I've cured it by putting a VBC on one HR20 before the customer device.

My liquor bill sure has dropped since we started implementing MFH-2
I will have alot of MFH-1 used parts in 30 days, in case anybody gets stuck, I know these parts are hard to find now....100 singe tuner subscriber units
