I'm thinking of changing to HR34 (+3) for the 4 tvs we have. Currently only have 2 tvs on account using HR20-100 and R15-300 (sd tv to be changed to HD). Would probably only do this if I could get some kind of deal through Retention. Been with Direct 16 years, but sounds like that is not worth much now days.
Question - on current bill they charge $6 mo for 2nd tv, do they charge for 2nd, 3rd and 4th when you have the HR34?
Question 2 - would they change out the HR20 or continue to use it for 1 tv? I would like to get rid of it since it is 5-6 years old and is so slow with the new UI.

Are you saying 4 HR34s or one hr34 and using RVU clients or non dvrs on all but one box? All TVs that have DirecTV minus one get charged the $6.

Doesn't matter what receiver you have, HR34, HR2x, R, H, D or whatever. All receivers are $6 each and the first one is free (well, not actually free, it's part of your programming package). You pay no more or less receiver lease (or owned) charges for having an HR34 than any other receiver. Yes, any HR2x or H2x (except the H20) will work with the HR34. MRV is the same.
