Satellite Dish: Slimline
Receiver: HR20-700

I have two problems:

I have no signals on sat 101, transponders 4, 18, 26 AND 28. My other settings are pretty decent considering where I live (Apartment w/juliet balcony).

I am getting low signals on sat 99c. I'm a little confused on how to fine tune the sat. Does anyone have a good link that can guide me through the fine tune process? The install manual is very vague, and the pics are bad.

Problem 1: Can someone tell me if I should be getting signals on sat 101's 4 transponders I list above"

Problem 2: Looking for a link to guide me thorugh the dish fine tuning process.

Any help is greatly appreciated.

Okay, I for one would usually not respond to 'yet another' thread along the SAME lines as has been posted literally hundreds of times.

This isn't really your fault, but the folks who run this 'forum' board who continue to refuse to put 'stickies' with actual information for folks to 'self read' that would answer a good 95% of the questions, like the ones you posted (including such things as....):

The 101 transponders 4, 18, 26 AND 28 and SPOT BEAMS. Since you decided (for whatever reason) NOT to give your actual 'location' (TEXAS is pretty big, having lived/gone to school in Austin and lived in Dallas and Houston for several years), there is no way anyone can tell you WHAT spot beams (if any) you should be getting.

Next, you don't say what receiver you have, although one can 'guess' from the readout you provided it 'may' be an HR series dvr. But, you skipped the spot beams information on both the 99/103 slots, though (should be 99s/103s, or if you have an H series HD reciever, 99b/103b) and that would give yet more information.

Going from the limited information you've given (no location, particularly), it appears your SD 'locals' may be coming from the 119 sat on 22/30/32) so maybe you're maybe east of Houston, or El Paso, or...?? The 99c levels are a bit low, so the dish may be a bit out of alignment (it's possible that there isn't any 99s signals around you, so the installer didn't have anything to go by when they installed the dish, no date given on when that was done).

Again, this basic information should be in a 'sticky' so that (once again) the same information I've typed in here would be readily apparent to anyone coming to the site. Just about everyone here can rattle this stuff out, but it's really 'basic' information. I know litzdog (sp?) in particular has typed out the transponder 'lists' so many times he must have it on a F-key or something.

So, provide a bit more information, and a bit more accurate information will return. Although you're about 95% of the way there (just by getting 'hints' about your setup).
