I have a question, anyone using a WD 73734 Mitsubishi HDTV with a VIP 622 and passing the 1080P VOD test?. 622 running 6.13, and HDMI.
Works fine on 1080I, but only get 1080P for about 5 seconds, when renting 10,000 BC VOD, and then shows failure. Other HDTV forums show 73734, with 1080P 24fps working fine with blu-ray players. Specs show HDMI input, 1080P 25hz, 50hz, 60hz for TV. Talked to dish tech line, and was told engineers still working out the bugs

My 73833 worked fine for "10,000 B.C." but you have to answer "Yes" pretty fast after it does the test. It only shows up for a second or two and if you don't click "Yes" in time, it will come up with a message that the says something like "Your TV is not compatible or you did not click in the alloted time." Once you click "Yes", the 1080p movie should work just fine.

We just got our 73736 Mits and tried to use the HDMI out on our 622 to no avail. Once our replacement unit is here, I'll do the 1080p test and report back. I realize that they are different numbers, but it will be a data point.

Have you tried other 1080p sources? blu-ray?

My first 622, also did not output HDMI, the replacement works fine.

I know someone who has a 73734 and a blu-ray player, and works fine.

I did as suggested, and my 622 showed "rented" and my TV blacked for about three seconds and started playing the movie. The 73734 info block showed 1080P received from the satellite HDMI input. The picture was great, at 73 inches, I could count the hairs per inch on the mammoths, and see colors on the body sand. But the strange thing is when I did a diagnosics option and viewed the HDMI analysis data on the 622, it showed a 1250i 50hz HDMI output occuring. I did even know that was a standard. 1080i, 1080p, ?1250i. Go figure!
