Been a while since there was a D* blackout that was there fault. But, this one definitely is! I'm sure for my own sanity not getting to watch an M's game is a good thing, but this is frustrating. (especially when I couldnt watch yesterday either, due to MLB's bs blackouts)

That's the biggest piece of BS I've ever heard.STEVED21 said:Due to the ESPY's the ESPN blackout started at 2pm instead of the usual 5 pm. No west coast games are on EI.
Wow... MLB has found another great way to screw us real fans.STEVED21 said:Due to the ESPY's the ESPN blackout started at 3pm instead of the usual 5 pm. No west coast games are on EI.
Yep. MLB seems to go the extra mile to antagonize their real fans. Sad but unsurprising.joebbaseball said:Wow... MLB has found another great way to screw us real fans.

Same with Saturday early afternoon games -- available online but not via EI. It is indeed disappointing.MikeW said:Then why aren't the games blacked out on MLB.TV. Very disappointing! I can watch the Giants' game on my PC but not on my Plasma....
And stupidity...Carl Spock said:After reading it, you'll never be foolish enough to think it's either the fans or even the game itself that is the most important thing in baseball. It's money and egos.
So just because ESPN wants to broadcast the NOT live ESPY's in primetime tonight, we have to be subjected to a blackout for 4pm games. I understand the MLB blackout rules, but this one really seems wrong. ESPN has plenty of networks, they could keep their Sunday night game at 8pm and show the ESPY's on ESPN2. As an Indians fan, this is two days in a row where my game has been blacked out, and my team won yesterday and is winning today. With the way the Tribe's season is going, I like to be able to watch the wins whenever I can, they don't occur too often!STEVED21 said:Due to the ESPY's the ESPN blackout started at 3pm instead of the usual 5 pm. Not even close. Ask before jumping to conclusions. This is a one-shot deal. All other West Coast games will be broadcast. The ESPN game was bumped up two hours for the ESPYs.jeret said:This really sucks. So, for the rest of the season, we won't be able to see any games that are broadcast from the western half of the country, on Sunday's. That's alot of games. A question. How many of the remaining ESPN Sunday games do you think will involve a Boston or New York team?
Absolutely, it's a one-shot deal. Personally, I think that since ESPN itself made the decision to change the time for today's game, the West Coast afternoon games should have been made available to EI folks. But MLB says no. Regardless, DirecTV is blameless and it won't be an issue the remainder of the season.purtman said:Not even close. Ask before jumping to conclusions. This is a one-shot deal. +1 and this one happens every year. It's the first Sunday after the all start break.STEVED21 said:Due to the ESPY's the ESPN blackout started at 3pm instead of the usual 5 pm. No west coast games are on EI.
