How does this channel work? I have choice ultimate and, according to DTV's site, my package should have it. Is this like Red Zone in that it's only active at certain times?

It's used only for the regular season. This year it was active mostly on Tuesdays and Fridays. I enjoyed it.

I called and DirecTV confirmed it was a mistake on the web site. I usually subscribe to the mlb.tv package so I'll probably do that again next spring. It is cheaper than the Extra Innings package and shows more games.

MLB Season is over, so it is no longer active. All post-season playoff games are on national networks.

I knew the days and checked on those. No big deal I heard it was very similar in how the MLB Network cuts around to the different games on their MLB Tonight program. But still I would like to get the channels that are supposed to be there.

So is everyone in agreement that this part-time channel only available during the regular season comes with the Sports Pack and MLB EI only even though it is listed on the DirecTV site as available with other packages such as Choice Ultimate? The DirecTV page for the Sports Pack has a specific ad for it.

I've also got a related question. I just left a cable co. that did not have the MLB alt. station. I'm an Orioles fan that lives in Alabama. As you can imagine, if MLB is airing several games at the same time, and one includes Baltimore, we usualy don't get the O's game. Will that air on the alternate channel so I'll get either game regardless of where I live? The Braves are considered our "local" team.

In my experience, you only get the MLB ALT feed when the game on the main feed is blacked out in your area. Both channels are not hot simultaneously.

This is true. You only get one or the other. Never both.
