A few weeks ago we had a major windstorm in my area and one of my monopoles holding my 5 LNB dish actually had a bolt snap and the dish slightly misaligned.
I immediately lost all my HD channels and about half of my SD channels.
Luckily I was able to reposition the dish and put a new bolt in and things have been pretty good.
Problem is the dish has suddenly been much more impacted by rain fade.
Even a slight drizzle will cause dropouts and picture loss.
I'm pretty sure I need the dish re-aligned by a pro and have DirecTV coming out next week to do that. I've got the protection plan on my account.
I noticed today that the installer only installed one of the monopoles to the vertical portion of the mast.
My dish is mounted on the side of my home. It's a vertical mount.
Shouldn't both monopoles have been put on the vertical portion of the mast arm?
