Periodically the message icon or the mailing will promote the Directv movie offerings by rebating the cost of a movie, or buy one get one free (BOGO) deals. But they always require you to take the step of asking for the rebate form, then mail it in.
I have seen the rebate form come without asking, but now they say you can ask for it, and you will get it in 6 to 8 weeks. Of course you still have to mail it in somewhere (at a cost of whatever stamps are now...fast approaching $.50)
Why don't they just mark your bill for a conditional credit so if you order a movie, it is covered? I know...they make money on people forgetting to send in a piece of paper...but on the BOGO offers, I don't buy anything anymore. Just too much hassle.
You also should be able to do this on the website if they insist on a customer action. I find it easier to do nothing.
