I have had many receivers over the years including HR20's and currently HR24's and HR34's caller ID has worked flawlessly. Sometimes problems can be caused by the other (or too many) devices on your lines. I'm using a VOIP service not a regular wireline telco. DSL could be the problem despite the filters.
When I had DSL years ago I used a breakout box which isolated the DSL from the regular lines and I never needed filters. It was something like this: http://www.ebay.com/itm/DSL-POTS-Fi...80867848451?pt=PCC_Modems&hash=item2a1c905903. It saved a lot of problems.
