Moving service to my primary residence

This is a great site. I am a newbie at this and have checked but couldn't find this exact scenario. I have Dish at my river cabin and regular cable at my home. I realize I can't have receivers for the 1 account at both places. I would like to cancel my cable and move the Dish to primary residence. Will they consider it a move if I own both residences? If I do this will I get another dish...what will happen to the one at the cabin? or will I be responsible for installation of new dish? Any help or advice will be appreciated.

It is still a move as far as Dish is concerned. Dish will contact local installer at the new address. You have to have the receivers their for hook up. The existing dish will stay at the cabin. The idea Dish has is new homeowner will connect to dish if equipment is allready there.

First, if you move your receivers to your primary residence, just call Dish to tell them that the service address now matches (right?) the billing address. No sweat.

I doubt that Dish will give you a second installation for free, but they'll do it for a reasonable price. Then you can leave the dish and cabling hardware in place at your cabin and take your receivers with you whenever you go back on vacation.
