Getting ready to move up to Dupage County next week from Virginia. Is there a need for OTA in those parts aside from the obvious sub-channels? How about WGN? Will I finally be able to watch Tom Skilling's amazing weather in HD?
Thanks.
Thanks.
I live in McHenry County, which is farther out than you.hekhl00 said:Getting ready to move up to Dupage County next week from Virginia. Is there a need for OTA in those parts aside from the obvious sub-channels? How about WGN? Will I finally be able to watch Tom Skilling's amazing weather in HD?

In what Du Page County city will you be living? I live in Lisle 30 miles southwest of the city, and my apt. actually faces southwest, directly opposite from Chicago and the antennas. While I can get the aforementioned channels in HD on DirecTV, I had to install an OTA antenna to get all the subchannels, except for WBBM CBS Channel 2. Nothing I do can get that. Same goes for 23-1, ME-TV.hekhl00 said:Getting ready to move up to Dupage County next week from Virginia. Is there a need for OTA in those parts aside from the obvious sub-channels? How about WGN? If you want PBS in HD you will need an OTA.hekhl00 said:Thanks everyone for the replies. We're going to be in West Chicago, near North Ave and Prince Crossing. I will probably set up an antenna to get the sub channels. All of my friends up there have said getting channel 2 is very difficult. Saw a lot of antennas near my in-laws in Batavia and they are quite a bit further west than we will be.
From what I can tell, most of the broadcasts are coming from downtown.
Thanks again everyone for the advice.
