I would say that depends on how many people still have old boxes. I still have 3 HD Tivo's on my account. Channels keep dropping off. They have sent me a letter to upgrade, I just have not called them yet.
The same ones that were duplicated on the 99c bird a few weeks ago.Jhon69 said:What HD channels are still out there in MPEG2 if you have the Triple MutiSat Dish?![]()

I'm curious what "channels keep dropping off"? As far as I know, at the moment, the HR10-250 still gets all of the same HD channels it ever did.lostman72 said:I would say that depends on how many people still have old boxes. They did shut off the west coast DNS HD MPEG2 feeds earlier this year. These channels were in the 80's...whitepelican said:I'm curious what "channels keep dropping off"? As far as I know, at the moment, the HR10-250 still gets all of the same HD channels it ever did.
Also, the EI and other HD sports packages went from MPEG2 to MPEG4 sport by sport since last fall. NFL goes there this week. That would mean dropping off if you have those channels.whitepelican said:I'm curious what "channels keep dropping off"? Well for me I had the NFL ticket and also had the LA channels in the 80's. Man I do miss my LA HD channels.whitepelican said:I'm curious what "channels keep dropping off"? As far as I know, at the moment, the HR10-250 still gets all of the same HD channels it ever did.
I had the same situation, I tried twice, and they insisted that the first "swap" meant that I was not eligible for the current "trade". Over in the legacy receivers forum, there are frequent updates on how to get free MPEG4 receivers, even without increasing your commitment (not easy but possible).SParker said:Is DIRECTV offering free HR2x's for HR10-250's? That was relatively pain free. I actually "swapped" my HR10-250 2 years ago but relocated my HD Tivo. This time I'm retiring the HR10. She also said that after my December 2008 commitment is up my HR20's become owned receivers?? This new swap did cost me a 24 month extension but I have no plans to leave anyways. I asked her about my SD-Tivo still active and she said its still fine.flipptyfloppity said:Over in the legacy receivers forum, there are frequent updates on how to get free MPEG4 receivers, even without increasing your commitment (not easy but possible).
I couldn't agree more. I lost my DNS feed and am stuck with the Reno (KRNV) NBC HD LiL feed and it's significantly inferior to the national LA HD feed. I don't know why or how but it's noticable to friends of mine that have no HD experience (or at least was a noticeable difference when I had both feeds to compare). I'm sure it has something to do with multicasting but KRNV is the worst LiL feed I get out of the big four.lostman72 said:.... Man I do miss my LA HD channels.
If I were you I'd probably keep the HR10 going, and kill the sd tivo... unless you've personally modified it. The HR10 should have a higher capacity...SParker said:That was relatively pain free. I was just curious because I got a HR10-250 which I plan to use for SD channels. The CSR told me I would not get charged the HD Access fee because of my setup. But we all know what could happen so if I get charged no big deal.whitepelican said:I'm curious what "channels keep dropping off"? meh, its a good idea but its my parents receiver and they have their own shows they record on it.inkahauts said:If I were you I'd probably keep the HR10 going, and kill the sd tivo... unless you've personally modified it. The HR10 should have a higher capacity...
