I have my digital camera(Canon power shot SD600) hooked to the USB cable input on my 622 Receiver.
It shows THERE IS NO MULTIMEDIA DEVICE HOOKED UP TO THE USB PORT.
I hook my camera to my computer with the same USB cable and it works fine so the problem is not the USB Cable.
I tried the USB Port in the front and back and neither seem to work.
I have downloaded pictures to my 1st 622 without issues but this replacement 622 will not detect my camera.

Has something changed where I cannot download photos to my 622?
If not, what am I doing wrong?

Try restarting your 622 with the USB cable connected, and with the SD600 powered on. Be certain "Stitch Assist" is disabled in the SD600.

My camera is in Auto so "Stitch Assist" is not selectable.
I tried hooking up the USB Cable to 622 and powering down.
It still does not recognize my camera.
I am beginning to think my USB ports are dead.
I called CSR; Bala said she did not have a troubleshooting sheet for multimedia problems.
I ask her what I was suppose to do; She had no answers.
I ask to speak to a Technician. She gave me a number to call and it was someone who had a hard drive Dish Consumers use.
Any other ideas?

Lots of cameras won't work because they don't ID themselves as a "disk" - those would work on a PC with software. The "disk" ones should work - do you have a flash drive or external HD to test the USB port?
Cameras, MP3s ... that can operate in multiple "modes" may not work when they don't ID as a "disk" and aren't good choices to verify USB port functionality.

This is my 2nd 622 Receiver.
The 1st 622 worked fine with this same camera. I would hook up my camera via the USB port and it would recognize it without issue.
I know its not a camera issue unless something has changed with the recent software upgarades to the 622.

After exhausting all avenues with CSR I went to to end of my cable tow and wrote a e-mail to [email protected].
Someone called me within 2 hours and is working diligently to get this issue resolved.
I was given a "credit" for my unresolved issue which I did not ask. It was very generous and let me know Dish does value its long term customers.
I believe the USB ports are "dead" on this particular 622.
I tried another Camera last night with another USB Cable and it would not recognize this camera either.

I recieved another 622 today. It did not fix my pronlem. This receiver also will not recognize my camera thru USB port.
If I hook this same camera with the same USB cable to my Computer, IT WORKS FINE.
My daughters camera is not recognized by this 622 neither.
I have used this camera and other visitors Cameras to show pictures over the 622 numerous times but now I cannot get a camera to work.
DOES ANYONE HAVE ANY INFORMATION TO WHAT I POSSIBLY COULD BE DOING WRONG HERE? I AM LOST AND DISH CSR HAVE NO IDEA.
Has anyone used there personal camera lately to download pictures to there 622?
ANY HELP WOULD BE APPRECIATED.

over the summer, my uncle from Phoenix visited. he has a digital camera (Olympus?) that we tried hooking up to our 622. the 622 wouldn't recognize it. tried a different camera (don't remember which brand) and it wouldn't work either. since i'm not really into photography, guess i didn't worry about it too much (in fact, have forgot about it sense we tried the multimedia function). but, think i may give Dish a buzz.

I am beginning to believe that A software update has killed downloading pictures via the USB port.
I have tried 2 different 622s, 2 different digital cameras with 2 different USB Cables with no luck.
This worked flawslessly last Christmas. We used numerous cameras at Christmas to download pictures to 622.
Will some others check to see if there 622 will accept there Digital Camera for downloading pictures via USB Port?

Well its beginning to look like the 622 and 722 does not like a Canon Digital Camera anymore.
I hope many more will try there Cameras to see if there is a pattern here.

This seems to be a problem that has arose in a software upgrade in the last 3 months. I have had several tell me that there Digital Cameras will no longer work on there 622,722 Receivers.
Please report this to Dish so they will correct this. I t might not be a "biggie" to you but to some it means a lot but many have to compain to get a fix.
