Is it a bad idea to have a multiswitch outdoors? Currently, we have the 4 feeds from the Slimline to 2 HR20s. There are 2 lines fed through the attic and 2 directly through the wall 4 feet below where the dish is mounted. We're considering adding 1 line to a H20. The switch would sit under the roofs overhang.

You can buy weathertight mounting boxes at places like Lowes and Home Depot. Your multiswitch should be fine in one of those.

That's the way I went with it. Bought one at Lowes for about $30.00. drilled holes to allow for coax runs in & out and mounted on the outside of the house.

Works like a charm...

I thought some of the switches were made for outdoors?

I know the SWM8 is sealed up good and tight, thought my old 6x8 was.
