Interesting that D* will have new ownership as of late next year. Quote below details the transaction. Maybe we get to do this all over again??

"As part of an $11 billion deal for Rupert Murdoch to buy back Liberty's 16.3 percent stake in his company, Murdoch agreed to give Malone News Corp.'s 38.4 percent controlling stake in DirecTV and other assets.

The deal, announced on Friday, is expected to be closed in the second half of 2007 and would herald the return of cable pioneer Malone to the U.S. television distribution business."

What do you think Earl?

I find this interesting because Liberty has a major interest in Wildblue Satellite internet access. Perhaps Liberty has an idea to combine TV and satellite 'broadband Internet????

I hope they do consolidate or merge Wildblue into DirecTV and offer a bundle. The cost will likely be less versus having the services separate.
