My Dtv remote

Had to have my HR-24/100 replaced due to the fan quitting. They sent me a new HR-24/500 receiver. I know it shouldn't make a difference with the remote but I've had to reset the remote several times to set up RF mode. When I finally got it to work the remote is double entering numbers and when pushing up arrow it's skipping several lines in the guide. I know this may be nit picking but its also very aggravating. Any thoughts and or ideas would be appreciated. After 3 calls to tech support there's no help in site.

Try enabling Model ID on the remote to slow it down. from Dtv mode enter code 963 Channel up. should get 2 blinks out of the dtv light after code and after chan up.
Model ID just adds code to the start of the remote command so it slows down response. to deactivate use the same code just channel down rather than channel up.
