My HR34 was installed on Monday (2-13-12). The install went pretty well. I have 6 DVRs on my account so I knew it was going to be a little but of a hassle. I already had a SWM 16 switch but I wanted the HR34 and a HR24 both connected downstairs. That meant it would take 7 tuners so one splitter connecting to the SWM 16 needed only those two receivers plugged into it. I told them that up front. After they went under the house to address all that they installed the HR34 and I was unable to record a 5th program at the same time. It was original on tuner 5. After a reboot it was tuner 1 same issue.

I had to tell them look it appears to me that there are 3 boxes connected to that splitter and its overloading it with 9 tuners when only 8 are available. They go back under the house and that is exactly the problem. Then once that was fixed I had to educate them on the functionality of the box and what to look for as they had no knowledge of what it really was or did.

Tuesday (2-14-12) I came home late that night to find that I had no signal from the box. I was able to do alot of troubleshooting and determine that it was in fact an issue with the HDMI port going out. I called and was sent to Case Management where it took awhile and they wanted to send a tech. I had to laugh. I dont care if they do send one but I just felt I would have to educate them as well. Long story short after one day of having a HR34 the HDMI port is out and I am being drop shipped a replacement already. Anyone else having issues with the HDMI port? I can say that the RG6 plugging into the HR34 comes straight off the power inserter. I was not sure if that was a good idea or not. Thoughts?

is it a samsung tv? if so try a different hdmi port....had that issue a few times on mine....
Its a LG TV and Surround Sound. I tried different cables and different ports. It all came down to working on everything except for the HR34. Does anyone think it could be from the RG6 coming directly from the PI? It only took one day for it to go out.

It's not the cable coming in. Check to see what model 500 or 700. Problems with 700 hdmi port.
It is a 700. I hope the replacement is not. I will call Case Management now and ask about it.

yeah or try component cabling these HR34's havent been out long enough to know but some HDDVR's can have hdmi port issues....also try another hdmi cable they are pretty fragile
I have the component cables hooked up now but I did not sign up for an additional 2 years for a expensive HD DVR to have the HDMI port go out on day 2. I tried other HDMI cables. All work with other receivers just not the HR34.
