I noticed the My Media option on my 622 dvr menu. Has anyone successfully uploaded photos or anything to their dvr for display?

Yes, I have uploaded pics to the 622 from a USB thumb drive.

It's been a while, but then you could set up a slideshow. Just follow the directions. It was pretty straight forward.
girdnerg,

I have been unable to locate directions on how to make this happen. I can see how to edit the slideshow, but nothing that describes how to initiate the transfer.

I'm still looking, though.
Malcolm,

All you need to do is plug in a thumb drive on the front USB port. The receiver will format it and create a directory. Then take that thumb drive and connect it to your PC and transfer pictures to it. Then plug it back in to the receiver and you will be asked what you want to do. Choose the picture transfer (or whatever they call it, it has been a while since I have done it). I'm not sure that the thumb drive needs to be formatted on the receiver first but it did way back when I did it).

I've done it. As others point out just connect a USB drive with JPEGs on it. It is not implemented very well though- no matter how high the resolution of your source pictures they don't look very good on the screen. I think they are all downrezed to something like 640x480. So I never make use of what could have been a nice feature.
Has anyone transferred any camcorder movies from a thumb drive to the 622?
You can only transfer pictures. Some of us have requested that they allow video but, so far, that feature has not been added. I also requested that we be allowed to store (and play) MP3 and/or WMA music files but haven't heard if they are planning on adding it.
"My Media" is not for pictures...it is for the external hard drive. You can download picture from your camera as I have done in the past. The pictures are stored on another part of the 622/722 internal drive. This does not effect the amount of time that you have for program recordings.

Have you tried that lately? Last year I was able to transfer pictures from two different cameras. That no longer works ("unsupported device" error). Now, as least with my cameras, the pictures have to be transfered to a USB thumb drive first before you can transfer them to your receiver.
I've done it once. I hooked up my camera and transferred whatever was on the SD card at the time. I haven't done it since. I have Apple TV to show pics off with.
