I am having problems receiving the new Mpeg 4 channels between 8 - 9 pm.This happens on my 2 Hr20-700s and my H20-600.I recentley had an Hr 21 installed and it gets all of these channels when the older 3 receivers dont. All 4 receivers get the channels great during the day.I had a service tech out last week for this problem and he replaced my old sam-6802 multiswitch with a Wb-68 and this seemed to do the trick, but now the last few nights this problem is back.I have a tech coming back again sunday evening.Does anyone have any ideas on what might be happening or suggestions for the tech to check out? Thanks Carl

That is pretty odd that you are seeing that problem only during the hours of 8-9PM.

Do the older three receivers give you the searching for satellite signal message during that time? Does the picture come in but is all broken up?

Actually the screen is just blank but the channel guide and all the info is on the top when you tune in the channels.

Is there anything specific that happens that time? Appliances [ dish washer, electric water heater ] that get turned on at that point?
Might be voltage issue.

I suppose it's possible that the new multiswitch is faulty. You definitely needed the original upgrade to the WB68. The timing is what is throwing me off and the fact you still recieve the channels fine on the HR21.
It wouldnt have anything to do with the alignment would it,The tech was actually surprised I was receiving the HD channels at all with the old multiswitch. He said the only reason he thought that was happening was because the dish was dead on.

I've seen plenty of HD systems work with the old SAM6802. It works but no one knows how long it will last.

Could this be external interference? We may need to consult with some antenna experts.

The most puzzling of all is the time factor. It would have to be something common to only the receivers that quit working. But only between 8-9 PM? Very odd. Do all of the receivers connect to the multiswitch?

But why would it happen with the three older units and not the Hr-21?
I don't know but, this is rather unusual and may have a unusual cause.

For clarity, did you repeat guided setup on the other receivers and confirm the dish and the WB68 multiswitch? Just "resetting" the receivers will not take care of this.

They are back off again now after coming on around 930,It isnt at exactly 8-9 but its usually somewhere in that timeframe sometimes longer ,sometimes shorter.
