Just noticed this starting last week - our CBS affiliate has seemingly improved picture quality quite a bit over the last few days, but audio is all weirded out all of the sudden. We have no trouble with the actual programs (NFL and college football, MPEG4 HD shows like NUMB3RS, CSI:, CSI:NY, etc), but during commercial breaks all we get is a VERY reduced audio level out of our two rear surround channels. Once the break ends and the station goes back to the national feeds, 5.1 audio is fine. Anyone else in this area notice anything similar?

Late reply, but we just got the same thing on CSI:NY "Risk", recorded 1/31/07. Just now getting to it in the list, but it seems like they need to get their act together. We had the 'background' type audio until half past the hour, when we lost audio altogether for a minute or two. Then they switched to SD (I had bars on the sides), just before a commerical break. Audio came back during the commerical (SD still). They switched back to HD at about 49 minutes past, and the audio was still screwed up. They finally got it right... with less than 10 minutes left to go in the episode.
