I currently have my HR20-700 set to native resolution on.

When I change channels, the native resolution output by the HR20 is often one channel behind. In other words, if I turn on my TV and the channel is being displayed at 1080i and I switch to Fox which should be 720p - it outputs 1080i. If I then change to CBS it outputs 720p, instead of 1080i.

I changed my receiver (to a Marantz SR8001) at about the same time the last software upgrade was pushed through. Prior to those changes, I never noticed the issue - but I don't know if it is a receiver issue or an HR 20 issue.

Any ideas would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Well the new software didn't fix this.
After all the hoop-la I set my to native [again]. The front panel lights don't match the output resolution. My TV seems to be getting the correct resolution. If I play whit the remote & can go through pillarbox/stretch/crop, but it displays the wrong resolution, i.e. if I've watching CBS 1080i, the TV says 1080i, but the front panel has 720P light on, & the remote will show 720P stretch, press again 720 crop, again 720 pillarbox, again 720 stretch, etc.
Turn native off & the remote will cycle through all of the resolutions [& pillar/crop/stretch or each].
Native on, correct signal to TV but not displayed correctly in or on HR-20.

I posted about this yesterday under "Native On Anomaly". I had just started using native on for any length of time and noticed that the front panel lights did not always match the resolution being passed through. I have a Sony 1080p lcd and it will show 480, 720, or 1080 on screen and it always gets the correct resolution for that channel. It's not a big deal but I think I'll just go back to native off and set the resolution to 1080. I haven't seen much if any difference. Oh, I've still got the previous software release-10b.

You get the credit for finding it. I just read your post & started to play with it.
It's the same thing with the new release. It is just with MPEG-4 however.
