OK,

After much tinkering I think I'm close. However I am affraid to mess with it. Please let me know about these readings.

101 sat 96% on the receiver

110 sat 96% on the receiver

119 sat 96% on the receiver

99 sat transponders= 79, 95, 86, 95, 72, 96

103 sat transponders= 0, 0, 89, 70. 80, 62

Are these readings normal for the 99 and 103?????-That is my big question.

Also I am affraid to fine tune again because my accutrac 22 reads 100% on the 101 and the 119 sats. So how can I fine toon it more if I'm already off the charts?

it tells you to get max signal reading but I have it don't I .....please advise guys and gals.

That is good for the 99 & 103?

I re adjusted the fine tune and I now have this-let me know if I should put it back.

the 101,110,119 still very solid 90's-100

the 99 sat stronger 88, 100, 98, 97, 83, 98 vs what I had before 79,95,86,95,72,96

Now my 103 is a bit weaker 0, 0, 85, 67, 56, 67 vs 0,0,89,70,80,62

Couple questions may. On the fine tuning of the azimuth I couldn't get the second reading to match I dentical- the azimuth bolts ran out of room.

Secondly are the first 2 transponders supposed to be zero's on the 103? Also what programing comes from the 103?

do I need to play with the azimuth more??
thx

That is fine...

As your area may not be serviced by the 103 right now.

Both 99 and 103 are spot beams.... so unless it is specifically "spotting" you area, you may get lower readiongs.

Your 99 readings are well with in normal range.

gmoney, Welcome to DBSTalk ;)

Sorry i didn't catch your followup questions, as i have been offline since. Although i am not that familiar with the "Slimline", Earl has summed it up most effectively. :)

Thanks a lot guys! That 103 freaks me out when I see 0, 0 on the first 2 transponders.

I'll have to take a picture of this and post it. This is a dandy the slim line with a skywalker pipe adapter on a full scale tripod with a 6 ft mast! To top it off it's all on my roof!

I got my slimline installed yesterday and almost wouldn't let the installer go because of all the 0's.

He had all 0's on 99 and all 0's except for transponder 3 on 103. Transponder 3 shows 100%.

I made him prove to me I had the HD locals and sure enough they were all there (well DirecTV only carries 4 + Altitude).

The installer from Ironwood was 2 hours early, probably in his mid 20's, very professional and had the dish set up and aligned within 20 minutes!!

All my 101,110, and 119 signals are in the mid to upper 90"s, much stronger then with the phase 3 dish. I am very happy with the install.

Spotbeams can be anywhere from 0 to 100 depending on where you are located relative to the aiming point on the spot beam. There are several spotbeam transponders on 101 also (maybe 119 as well), but the 99 and 103 satellites are spotbeam-only. Next year there will be additional satellites at these locations with a combination of national and spot beams.

As promised my install pic! I'll keep my eye out for those Northesters! Hopefully it will limp me through the winter and when I move I'll find a more suitable position!-Keeping my fingers crossed!:)
