I've never see it done it online, and I'm not sure you can.

It's typically is done over the phone with a CSR, who will ask you the receiver number, Access card number, your account number, and info on you and your address.

Thanks HDTV... I couldn't remember.. I knew there was something you could do online, but it may have been "re-authorizing" a receiver or sending a reset of the programming... something like that. I have a new receiver they cant seem to activate.

You can re-send a Receiver's "authorization signal" from your DirecTV online account, but you cannot set up a new Receiver. You have to call them for that. Also must call if you want to deactivate a Receiver.
I was looking for that feature... where is it on the web site?

There are numerous ways to get there, but none I've found are obvious or easy to link to. Here's one way...

On the bottom of most pages, under 'Support' select 'Sound & Picture', then select "Please Call Customer Service X721" (or most any of the "Please Call... choices). Finally, click on 'Clicking Here' in the last solution. If you're not logged in it'll take you to a login screen first and then to the page where you select the receiver to be reauthorized.
