I recently purchased a Sharp Aquos HDTV and hooked it up to my 625 DVR. The main problem is the picture is a little fuzzy and grainy. Is there anything I can do to improve the picture without upgrading to an HD receiver? Also this may be a stupid question, but would the picture be any clearer if I just upgraded to an HD receiver without subscribing to an HD package? I really can't bring myself to upgrade to a monthly HD package yet.

Thanks in advance:confused:

Scratch,
What size display did you buy?
You may get a better picture with a different receiver, but not because it is an HD receiver. PQ can vary with receiver.
Upgrading to a 211 or 622 (HD receiver), and viewing in SD is not going to improve the PQ. Of course, upgrading, and viewing in HD will.

If you have the Option to use Component....do so !!
The 625 features composite, S-VHS and RF connections. I'm not sure why the question was posted in the Dish HD forum.

How does the Aquos look with other SD content? Maybe the TV doesn't do a good job with SD content.

You still wind up with SD.

Bob
Garbage in (SDTV) garbage out.;)

Why would you buy a HDTV and not want to get the best possible picture? Once you experience true HD you will always see SDTV as totally inferior and hard to swallow.

Guys,

I have my tv hooked up with an S-Video plug. Also, it's a 26" tv.
Thanks
Using this TV for SD is a total waste. If you really didn't want to spend money on HD programming why would you spend money on this set?

An HDTV cannot look good with a SD picture. It just doesn't happen. :nono:
