I just got the 622 installed last week and within a few days I started to experience the jittery video that I see is a not so uncommon problem. It's on all channels, HD and standard, local and otherwise. Otherwise the reciever is solid gold. Just an annoyance to see the picture get a little jumpy.

However, and please correct me if I'm wrong, after spending a few days browsing this forum I have gathered that this is most likely a software issue that could be resolved during a new software release in the future, correct? If this is the case I'm not going to even attempt to get a replacement as of yet.

Again, it's just the jittery video, but it's on all channels. It probably occurs two or three times an hour, if I had to guess. More so on local channels, I'd say.

Thanks for the information, guys. You've helpled put a nervous new user to rest.:D

John,
I have 2 622's, and both used to have jittery video, but I really cannot remember the last time. I believe mine went completely went away with the last software version.

Some here still have it, but I don't think anywhere near as frequent as you described. What you're describing does not "sound" like the known jittery software bug.

Have you checked to be sure ALL your connections are good and still tight?
Just to be sure, you're not using the included composite cables, you're using either component + audio, or HDMI, correct?

It's quite possible I'm over-estimating the number of "jitters" that occur. Sometimes it's more, sometimes less, but they really seem to come out of the woodwork during primetime on the local channels. Sometimes even just going into a total whacked out screen with green boxes dotting over everything and losing the sound. However, most of the time they're not near severe enough for me to get worked up over.

The connections are indeed rock solid, although I'll admit I'm not a good tech guy, so I'm calling the man who handles my satellite installation and see about the composite cable issue. I seem to recall HDMI cables were involved so I'm betting he used those. When I described it to him over the phone he seemed to think it was the software bug that was still being worked out, but I'll ask.

Thanks for the help!

I can't say that I've EVER seen this. How is your 622 connected to the TV, via HDMI or component ?? Whichever it is, try the other. Mine is with component, for what it's worth.

Green boxes isn't a s/w issue it is most likely a lack of signal. Check the SS on the different sats and OTA. Is it sat or OTA that is having the problem w/ the green boxes?

Thanks for the suggestions and information, guys. I'm calling my satellite guy Monday to ask about the fine details, however today I checked and signal strength is great and it looks like he used component + audio when he hooked it up. I'll check on everything else with him Monday.

As a side note, last night and today it has worked flawlessly. Not even the tiniest distortion on any channel. Guess it heard me.
