I added an HR22 box yesterday and setup a bunch of season passes. Many of SP's are the same as the SP's on the existing HR20 in my house. But for some reason these SP's are quickly racking up recordings of repeats on the HR22 even for SP's that are set to first run only (I have now triple checked). What's odd is the program description clearly notes it is a repeat and lists the original air date and the HR20 with the same passes are not recording these repeats.

I appears that the new box is either deciding to record them because they are new to that box, even if not first run, or there is some other software issues since it is not a Tribune data feed issue. And to be clear, I'm not talking about shows that first aired within the last week or so and are still in their first re-airing run like the cable networks often do; I am talking about episodes from last season, etc. Examples of the shows that's it's done this with so far are Dirty Jobs (it's recorded 3 episodes since last night already depsite being set for first run only) on Discovery HD and Law & Order: Criminal Intent on USA Network. There are others too...

Anyone else experience this with new receivers? Any way to fix it? It kind of makes the "first run only" setting useless. I have always experienced the occasional example due to bad data but this seems to be worse.

Is it recording an episode of the series once? or is it recording every episode of your series (not looking at Dirty Jobs) i.e. how many episodes of L&O has it recorded. I have found that no matter what, if you choose an episode of a series to record and set it for no repeats, even if that one episode is a repeat it will record it that one time because that was the episode you used to create the SL. Now if its recording every episode of that series after the one you choose to create the SL, that's another story...

What FW version is your box running? Hit and hold info until the unit pulls up a big diagnostic screen, and scroll through it until you see what software version it is running and let us know...

I recently created a couple SLs on a box and set it to first run only, and it recorded the repeat episode I used to create the SL, biut hasn't recorded the show since, while it waits for new episodes to show up.

That was a good call. With the exception of Dirty Jobs, so far it is 1 episode per show so you're theory could be correct. That is still an annoying behavior but at least its not a big problem if it is a 1-time thing per season pass... For the moment I will assume the Dirty Jobs thing could be a data fluke.

My software version is 0x255. It updated last night.

Yes, that's how it works. It will always record the episode you use to set up the series link even if it does not meet the criteria you set. So if you specify first run, and the episode you use to set up the SL is a repeat, you will get one repeat and then the rest of the recordings will be first run.
