Even with the latest software, recurring manual recordings have issues. For example, my "Every Wed at 9:00pm for 30min" is OK this week, but the To Do list has it for Tue next week. :nono2:

Noticed a new one today related to daylight savings time. I have a "Mon-Fri 5:00am for 30 min" recording set up. This week it's OK, but the To Do list shows it as 4:00am all next week after the time change this Sunday. The Every Wednesday recording mentioned above, which is showing for Tuesday next week, also shows 8:00pm, one hour earlier than scheduled.

None of the Series Link recordings show a similar change or correction in time. Won't know until Sunday if it's a display bug or an actual issue with the recording time, but I wanted to post it before the time change so interested parties could recreate it more easily.

(Note - "soft" resetting doesn't clear the problem. And I did a "Full" reset (complete restart, requiring a walkthrough of Guided Setup) after the latest software came down - after re-entering the Manual Recordings, they still show these problems.)

I am also seeing the problem with going back to standard time next week - the recurring recording I have for Monday - Friday 10 AM is at 9 AM next week. I am wondering if it is somehow marking it as 10 AM daylight time so since we are going to be on standard time next week it thinks that is the same as 9 AM standard time? I guess I'm going to wait until Sunday and see what happens, but I sort of have a feeling this is some bug with daylight savings time versus standard time.

I also still have manual recurring recordings showing up 2 or 3 times in the ToDo list for the same exact time, although have found this doesn't affect anything (after at first going round and round deleting these extra ones only to have them pop back up again!). Also still having in some cases a manual recurring recording in the ToDo list showing up for "Yesterday"!! Again, this doesn't seem to affect anything and eventually clears out, but is kind of strange nevertheless!

I still have problems with manual recurring too. I record CNN at 4pm M_F for one hr, but HR20 also records the 6pm show. I guess that's because they have the same name (Situation Room) and HR20 can't tell the difference. It also shows up twice on my To Do List. Apparently the second one is for the 6pm show that I really don't want.

This really limits the usability of the HR20. You would think the programming for the manual recording would be flawless as it is the basic for all recorders since the first VCR's came out. I think they concentrated too much on their fancy series link set up and left this till last.

The only thing we can do is voice our concerns and hope the next software update fixes it.

I've only had my HR20 for a few weeks, but I've been impressed with the regularity and effectiveness of the updates. I figure they'll get to this one before too long.

I've had manual recording stop too soon. I think they've tied manual recording to the guide somehow (whether intentionally or by accident). IMO, manual recording should totally ignore the guide, ignore whether the thing being recorded is (or overlaps) ppv, and just do precisely what the manual record instructions say. I think when manual record overlaps a ppv it's difficult because of the "don't pay until you watch the first time" thing. But manual record should be the most basic thing. Very frustrating for me that I haven't been able to get it to do what I want it to do on any attempt I've made so far.
