So, in the end it worked out?
Maybe you got to greedyRabidfool said:In the end I was able to get the $10 AAA discount, however, I would have been saving more if I stayed with the 'internet only' line I first called. Seeking out the AAA discount hurt me
When a AAA Member calls the AAA exclusive DIRECTV toll free number 800-242-9114 they will be asked to provide the first six digits of their AAA membership. This number will be verified by DIRECTV. Upon purchase, DIRECTV will issue a $10 credit on the members monthly bill for 24 months. When the member receives their bill they will see a message beside the credit stating "AAA member discount".Rabidfool said:Thank you, every thing I have seen previous to this post has been hear say and not official instructions.
In the end I was able to get the $10 AAA discount, however, I would have been saving more if I stayed with the 'internet only' line I first called. Seeking out the AAA discount hurt me, as the original offer they provided was $22 a month off list price. No CSR after the initial setup were able to duplicate, or explain, that deep discount that I was given right away after credit check with no provocation.
My distaste comes from the HUGE lack of communication within company and even between the CSR and Supervisor on the line at the SAME TIME who gave me different price quotes.
You are missing the main complaint I haveIslandguy43 said:In the AAA discount, you must call a special phone number that is listed on the AAA Web Site, when you sign up. Why didn't you call that number first?
wanna know what the problem is??Rabidfool said:Called up to sign up today. New to the Sat dish world, did my homework here and a few other sites.
Called 1-888-777-2454. Stated I wanted 1 HD DVR, 1 HD and 2 SD and protection plan. Ran my credit and without prompt gave me a discount. Original 74.99/104.99 but would sign me up for 52.99/92.99. Said great lets do this. Gave him my refferal (from this board!) and that was entered fine. Stated I wanted to go-green and get AAA discount. Rep stated there is no AAA discount. I stated that yes there was and he put me on hold while he looked. Came back and said yes, but he couldnt enter it and that once he got my account setup he would transfer me to the dept that could. Took my CC and billed me $99 for the second reciver and transferred me.
Over the next hour and 20 minutes I was given a complete run around. They canceled my first order and re did it to give me the AAA discount. This new price plan was higher than before the 'discount.'!!!!
After speaking with a manager and a pad filled with numbers I was given 75.94/131.93 and a free HD receiver.
Direct needs to get there act together if they expect me to stay with them. The fact that all three employees gave me vastly different numbers for the SAME plan is crazy.
Oh and next available install date is almost a month away (over 3 weeks.)
My excitement has turned to disgust.
I am sorry but you are incorrect on both the dollar amounts and the fact that this IS allowed and customers currently have it.VenomsGirl said:wanna know what the problem is??
you cant double stack discounts. you cant get the "new customer offer ($74.99 w/ NFLST) the AAA (i think thats a $5 discount dont remember as far as i knew they shut that down) and going green is another $5....so...you could honestly do 2 of the three....but you cant do all three. computer system wont allow it.
Sorry you are having so much trouble. I signed up for the AAA deal and it went smooth. If you signed up for the NFL Sunday Ticket Premium package special, you shouldn't have received any monthly discount, except the AAA $10/mo for 24 months or a total of $240. Also, free HD DVR.Rabidfool said:I am sorry but you are incorrect on both the dollar amounts and the fact that this IS allowed and customers currently have it.
The problem is there was a discount ($22) the first CSR gave that no one could recreate. And after that every few minutes I was given a different price quote on the same service!
Now I am having a helluva time scheduling installation. I am about to cancel everything.
Correct this is how it has worked out. However, the actual dollar amount kept changing every time they listed my options and discounts.RACJ2 said:Sorry you are having so much trouble. If you go for a lessor package, you should have received $18/mo for 12 months + $10/mo for 24 mo AAA discount. Also, you should get $100 off 2 receivers with AAA, the D* special only give you $100 off 1 receiver.
I hear you... I originally signed up for D* back in Dec 07 and had the run around with trying to get an install date. I got so frustrated I called back and said cancel my order and issue me a credit for the HD DVR's. They tried to talk me out of it, but I was at my wits last end. Then after I cancelled, Mastec the installer called and said they could do it the next day. I told them forget it. It took me 6 months to even consider D* again.Rabidfool said:Correct this is how it has worked out. However, the actual dollar amount kept changing every time they listed my options and discounts.
Now I am being told I was not scheduled for an install three weeks out and when I contact the install company directly, they have NONE of my information!
Bye ByeRabidfool said:Yeah I am considering canceling today if they are unable to process my order correctly. I understand some degree of confusion with all the discounts, but now having two account numbers and NO install date is kinda bogus.
I agree, i mean sorry to hear you are having the trouble but if you just relax its not really that bad. As you said to begin with if you would have stuck with the original offer you would have been fine, but apparently you got greedy and now see where your at.idigg said:Bye Bye![]()
there is indeed a department that understands your situation. Special Projects. Special projects is limited in troubleshooting for searching for Satellite to checking the cables, checking for Line of Sight, and Cleaning the Dome if there is one. Technically, you cannot get locals in different locations as you are allowed only locals from your home market (where the RV is registered) but you can get Distant Networks by filing a form.9730ld said:We live in a motorhome. How do we get local channels when we are in different locations around the country, but stay in a place for a week to several months. Also, with NASCAR race teams, full time motorhomers, boats, etc. there should be a phone number for Directv that understand our satellite needs. Thanks![]()
