My question may have been answered and I appreciate a response anyway as I could not find it in a search. I want to switch to Direct Tv with the HD Dvr box but I can only run 1 imput wire to the box as its located in a finsihed basement. I had heard of a switch that was going to cure this problem but I dont have a definitive answer it its availble in my market yet. I can run unlimited wires from the dish to the basement but once in the basement I can only run 1 wire to the HD Dvr boxes. Obviously I want full function of both tuners in the dvr box or it wont be worth my while to switch as I am tired of the poor equiptment and service of Time Warner Cable in Cincinnati...

SWMLine Dish or SWM-8.

SWMLine is one wire from Dish, SWM-8 can support older Dish's.

Not sure if SWMLine is available in all areas yet.

SWM-8 is available from many sources including dave29 here.
I had the exact same issue at my place. One line in a finished basement plus one line each to the bedrooms. I bought a SWM-8 off solidsignal.com and installed it myself. There are good instructions available on this site. All you have to do is make sure lines meet maximum and minimum length requirements. It was pretty simple actually, and it works great!

I'd say have the DirecTV install done with the one line, but make sure all four lines from the dish go to some common place where you can put the SWM-8 yourself later. Mine is in my attic.
