I have a question. I moved from directv.I had my dvr wirelessly connected.
I told the tech I wanted the same setup...He said no problemo it is your choice wireless or not.I'm fooling around with the kids he does the install takes me thru what I need to know.
The wife and I finally had some time to play around with Dish tonight and lo and behold he installed the powerline connector and not the wireless setup...
Customer service is saying ,well we are sorry for the techs' mistake but you will have to pay $25 for the wireless connector, would you like to place your order now,I said NO i will send you back the powerline connector and when you send me a wireless connector.? Are you kidding me !!!!!!?
The tech lies to me and I have to pay.I told them them basically what they are saying to me is the tech who is frontline for our company lies does a lazy option install but too bad that is how we do business and we don't care if you like it or not...
I guess my question in all this is,who do I contact to remedy this wrong ?

Strike 1 for Dish customer service on day 1 of service,Very Sad !

While you still can call and cancel your DISH account and switch back to Directv!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Perhaps one of the Dish reps who post here will pick this up and help you out. Ray [email protected] Network has been very helpful to me and others in the past, PM him.
Ok, that is wrong. When I got my install about a month ago, I asked the tech about wireless. He didn't have an adapter on him, so he actually made me an appointment and they came out the next Wednesday, hooked up 2 powerline adapters for both DVR's, got them going, and didn't charge me anything. Now, my question is: what do you mean he didn't hook up the wireless set up?

From the sounds of it, he wanted wifi instead of the powerline adapter option.
I've been instructed that the preferential receiver to BBand connection methods are, in order, Hard wired, powerline and lastly, wireless. Not being tech savy when it comes to home BBand networks, why would someone want the wireless adapter instead of the Slinglink Turbo powerline unit?
could be on opposite sides of the house, thus on separate legs in the circuit box
dish needs to be a little more caring about customers needs
In some cases, Customers need to be more specific about what they need before an installer comes and doesn't have what he thinks he needs..
First of all, the tech should have listened to your request. I have found that since I am particular, I need to watch the installers and make sure they are doing what I asked them to do.

Does the network connection work? If VDP07 is right, then you have a faster connection using the power line option. Also, you have one less device on your wireless network hogging up wireless bandwidth. It might be better to keep what you have.

+1

When I switched to E* the installer, who was good and knowledgeable, wanted to connect my 612 with powerline adapters. I explained to him that my home had 2 breaker boxes and that powerline was iffy. He ended up using the Netgear 3100v2 usb adapter, which works OK.
I have powerline adapter and 2 722s. It automatically gets the internet connection.

I have 25mbs download speed and use a 5.2ghz - N connection for my laptops and desktop. I also have a 2.6ghz - N connection that my smartphones connect.

Is there any accessory to make 722 connect to 5.2ghz - N connection? It would most probably be at higher speed than powerline adapter.

I get that scenario, but if the installer confirmed connection, as he should have, then the Slinglink would be the way to go, no? I've used the Netgear wireless adapter a few times when your scenario was the case.
Please send me a PM with your phone or account number so I can assist you with this. Thanks!

I haven't checked this thread in a few days, but let me add this...the powerline adapter is in my back room where my pc is, and it is an add-on, so it is different circuit. Sometimes, it does work.....
