If I'm posting in the wrong forum, please move it to the appropriate place...

I'm in the process of calling DirecTV regarding pixelating on my TV in one room and no problem in the other, all coming from same dish and same multi-switch. I have HR20-100 in the living room receiving all channels without a problem and H20-600 in my other room constantly having problems with MPEG4 channels. I have gone through several receivers all having problems.

So, if they were to schedule a technician visit, can I request to have my dish replaced to the new one without 110 and 119 LNB's? I do not need them since we will never, NEVER get local channels off DirecTV (our market's just not big enough... Watertown, NY 13601 DMA). I do not like having the big dish in the front lawn, I'd like it back up where it belongs (on the porch roof).

The "new" dish is not actually a different dish. It is a different LNB on the current Slimline dish.

I found it on the forum... I was referring to the SL3. Can I ask for it? I think they will need to replace the dish anyway because it seems as though only two of the four actually works inside the dish LNB's. The problem existed BEFORE I had the Zinwell WB68 added.

Have you tried swapping the boxes from room to room? If so did the problem stay with the box or with the room? If it followed the box its a bad box if it stayed with the room it can be narrowed down to a cable/end/splitter(should not be any splitters) or a bad output on the lnb.

You can ask, and you would probably not get it, but it wouldn't help your problem - as noted, the physical dish is the same as the SL5 - just different hardware at the end of the arm. You need the big dish to get HD.

You can but they are still not widely available. Plus since you are in the NY market which tends to get all the latest stuff the last I wouldn't count on it yet.
Remember CSR can not give you specific inventory items, the system decides it based on what you have or order.

If the dishes aren't generally available in your area, chances are VERY slim that the tech would have one on his truck, or maybe even in the warehouse.

If the problem is the LNB assembly, AND you can actually get the Slimline3 assembly to repair it, it's a whole different story between swapping the LNB assembly - especially if it's currently a pole mount on the ground - and having the tech move the dish to the roof. I would almost think that should cost additional if the fix doesn't require it.
