If they go down that path, I'll just ignore them like I do on the Tivo. I don't see it as a big deal either way.

I thought the original purpose of R15/HR20 Showcases were to compete with cable's VOD so I've been waiting to see something appear there that doesn't already play 4 times a day on other DTV channels. Bottom line being that if I want to see CD USA or Project MyWorld I can set my R15 to record those on my own as they're ALWAYS playing. No real added value. But if they're going to loading episodes of 24 a day before they air and I have to pay to see it, I may consider that.

Yes, Tivo Showcases are almost all ads. I thought these were suppose to be different.

Has the VOD stuff even been turned on for the HR20? I've yet to see anything on my HR20 yet my R15 has all kinds of crap on it.

Possibly you can clarify. My understanding was that the VOD feature was/is to appear under Showcases under the R15/HR20.

At this point, on my R15 I have 2 episodes of Project Myworld :icon_lame , the DIRECTV Plus Welcome Video :sleeping: , and 3 Episodes of the DTV Championship Gaming.....ah I can't thing of a word for that.....show? :uglyhamme

Point being, or not being, what ta F are these showcases? Anyone? Anyone? I thought Showcases =VOD. If not, can anyone tell us more?

Oh, and for those on the R15 side, have you watched the Championship gaming shows? If not, don't bother. I truly don't understand how DTV made the decision to even produce this. Both of my kids (19 and 22) are heavy into gaming. I'm guessing this is DTVs market. I told them about this and both of them answered with "who wants to watch anyone else playing games?"

To me it looks like DTVs venture into their own production company has come up with the same results as their venture into the DVR programming venture. Again something that is completely :icon_stup

Seriously, you should watch one of these Championship Gaming shows if you can....just for grins.

They start showing this huge arena but when the two dweebs are actually playing, and the "color guy" and "play by play guy" (yes they have both) are doing their thing you only see these kids playing a video game with piped in cheers. Lamest excuse for programming I have seen yet.

I guess I should watch more to see if they explain how the players were selected and how this really is any Championship. That would be if I cared.
