Hi. I took the plunge this week and replaced my HR10-250 for the HR-21. I've been pleasantly surprised... it's not as bad as I feared!
However.. after reading the manual, and searching this board, I do have a question that I haven't found answered. How can I quickly see what's recording on both tuners? On the Tivo, I'd push the right arrow to bring up the information banner. I could then scroll down to see what is on the other tuner. I've pushed Info on the new remote, but it seems to just give me info on the current program. Any help would be appreciated.

You've sort of stumbled onto a sore subject here. There are workarounds for getting an dual-live-buffer sort of experience, and you can find them documented in the Information, Tips, and Resources forum inside of DIRECTV General Discussion. Basically it involves setting at least one of the programs to record and deleting the recording when you're done.

If you just want to see whats recording on the other tuner while watching the other show recording, hit the List button and bring up the list of shows that you have recorded. It will show the two shows that are recording for you.
I read all about the Dual Live Buffers problem, but that wasn't what I was referring to. I was more concerned about seeing what's recording on the second tuner so that I could decide if I wanted to cancel it and watch live tv on another channel. List is indeed the easiest way to see what's recording on two tuners.
You could also go to Menu > Manage Recordings > To Do List, but that's a few more steps.
You can also cancel the recording from either the Playlist or the To Do List, simply by pressing STOP on the active recording. You'll then get a prompt: Keep Recording, Stop recording and keep it; Stop recording and delete it.

Also, if you try to change the channel on either tuner, it will tell you what is recording on both tuners and give you the option of cancelling either of the recordings (Tivo would just tell you one of them). You are looking for a Tivo solution to a Tivo problem (that you have to find out what is on the other tuner). With the HR2x series, you just change the channel and you get all the info you need to make a decision.
